Information on the UK's second biggest airport London Gatwick and what to expect when you arrive.
Gatwick is the second largest airport, after Heathrow, in the UK and is at this moment in time the busiest single runway airport in the world. It is also the seventh busiest of all the airports in the world. Currently there are 79 airlines which operate from Gatwick's two terminals that serve 227 destinations worldwide.

The journey time from Hertford to Gatwick in off peak times is about 90 minutes but this can be much longer during peak times or if there are holdups due to an incident on any of the major trunks roads that are on route such as the A414, A10, ,M11, M25 or M23.

When being dropped off at the airport you will be set down at the Lower Forecourt for the South Terminal and for the North Terminal you will be dropped, off at the upper forecourt. See BAA's official website page, Important forecourt information for more detailed guidance.

The Airport has two terminal buildings - The North terminal and the South terminal - with a monorail Inter Terminal train that links the two terminals. The monorail service which runs every three minutes with a journey time of about 2 minutes.
